Budget check
Type in a school's income and spending for the next three years and see what would happen to its reserve, with the same five statuses the site uses.
A budget check takes one school's last full year and your forecast for up to three more, then works out the reserve at the end of each year and the status this site would give it: in deficit, heading for deficit, tight, healthy or large reserves. It uses exactly the same rules as the school pages, and explains the result with what helps.
Start from a school's published figures, or type in your own. Figures are cash, as reported to the DfE.
Nothing is sent anywhere. Everything you type stays in this browser (a draft is kept on this device so you can come back to it). The tool only downloads figures this site publishes.
